Composed during the last years of Giuseppe Verdi’s long career, it was dedicated to Alessandro Manzoni, with whom Verdi shared his Risorgimento values and whose death had deeply stroke him.
In Como, Verdi’s sublime masterpiece with dramatic contrasts and a shattering impact will be played by Orchestra 1813 and by New Jersey Choral Society’s choristers..
At its 37th season, the New Jersey Choral Society is one of the most prestigious American choral groups, well known for showing uncommon and unique programs. From its foundation in 1980, the NJCS extended until it became a group of 100 people among amateurs and enthusiasts coming from all the United States. The New Jersey Choral Society is led by the orchestra leader Eric Dale Knapp, accompanied by Linda Sweetman-Waters.
In continuous expansion, the New Jersey Choral Society performer alla round the world: Normandy, Paris, London, Sydney, Vienna, Beijing and Shangai, going as far as singing at the White House.
Their mission is to «serve the Community, the Participation and Art with passion, imagination and research for excellence».
